Marty McFly. Aahh, McLaren. The British answer to horses and bulls was founded in 1985, the same time when Microsoft released Windows 1.0. It was also the year of cult films and series like The Goonies, Back to the Future, The Cosby Show and Miami Vice. A year earlier, in 1984, Senna was introduced in Formula 1. A race driver that doesn’t need to be introduced. The McLaren Senna is giving tribute to the Brazilian champ, honouring his success with the McLaren Formula One Team between 1988 an 1993. In total Senna won four consecutive F1 constructor championship titles for McLaren.
The golden goose. Every car insurance company has a poster of the McLaren Senna on their wall, since it pays the wages for the entire staff on both first and second floor. Performance is the key competence of the McLaren Senna, the lightweight-design model from the British manufacturer, which is limited to 500 cars. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces an output of 588 kW / 800 hp and a peak torque of 800 Nm right out of the box.
That’s nine zero two. Novitec offers three tuning levels for this super sports car. All three performance kits use the plug-and-play Novice N-tronic which introduces new mapping for injection and ignition as well as a modified electronic boost pressure control. The most powerful variant unleashes an additional 75 kW / 102 hp of peak power and increases peak torque by 88 Nm. As a result, the McLaren Senna produces an output of 663 kW / 902 hp at 7,100 rpm. Peak torque jumps to 888 Nm, on tap at 6,300 rpm.
Traveltimes. From rest, the tuned sports car slings itself to 100 km/h in a mere 2.7 seconds. Not even four seconds later, after exactly 6.5 seconds, the McLaren Senna from Novice already travels at a speed of 200 km/h. The top speed is 335 km/h. Novitec also can customize of the McLaren Senna to suit the personal taste of the owner. To this end, the company uses the finest leather and Alcantara in a sheer endless variety of colors.
- 902 hp and 888 Nm of torque
- From nowhere to 200 km/h takes 6,5 seconds
- A little bit later it hits a top of 335 km/h
- If you have to ask for price, you probably can’t afford it
Our Personal Opinion = Only because you insist:
McLaren limited the Senna to 500 pieces. Most of them are probably parked in a garage in the dessert. The fact that Novitec got hold of one to do their thing is quit amazing. KW automotive is a strong partner from Novitec, and thinks highly of the tuner. Though a tuning box that delivers 102 extra horses on a car that costs 235 years of saving… Mad gentleman, start your engines.
