_It’s a family affair.

Remember that day when your brother was born? It was without a doubt one of the worst days of your live. Because from that day one you were no longer the little sweetheart, that role was now reserved for the little creature that never stopped crying.

The new favorite. And it’s a similar story for the Toyota (GT)86. Because Toyota recently gave birth to a new child called Supra. So they actually gave a name to their youngest, as opposed to a number. It’s clear that they have more love and affection for the newborn child. And at moments like this, there’s not a lot you can do about it. Or is there?

The favorite uncle. Your parents, in this case Toyota, took their time before they decided to have another child. In fact, Supra was announced for many years, and it’s pretty obvious that they went to a fertility clinic to make it all happen. And now it’s here, and all the After Market companies visited the newborn and brought all kinds of birth gifts like spoilers, wide body kits, hoods, etc. And what do you get? Well, there’s that one package from your favourite uncle Varis from Japan. Now is probably a good time to open it…

The newest favorite. And there’s a reason why your Japanese uncle is your favorite family member, because the package contains his ‘Kamikaze 86’ wide body kit. And this kit transforms the number 86 into full fledged racer status. And guess what, suddenly Supra becomes the cute little kid, while you get called Kamikaze, and suddenly get all the attention from the family.

More favorites. Uncle Varis kit has quite some tricks upon his sleeve, like wider skirts, wide front and rear fenders, carbon lip and underboards, canards, wing, hood, the whole shebang. And while uncle Varis is a great guy, there are others that also helped adding to the cool factor. And one of them is Rays who delivered these fancy Volk Racing wheels. A widebody kit, a nice set of wheels, what could be missing?

One more favorit. Maybe air suspension? Think again pall. You really think that someone in his right mind would give his car a full racing look just to park it on the asphalt? Not this number 86. Here is where playtime comes to an end and the real stuff kicks in. And it doesn’t get more real, and a whole lot of fun, then having a coilover set of KW Clubsport shocks under your car. So who’s the favorite now…

Suspension Tech Info: The Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ platform was never designed to be the fastest sports car in the world. But with a 200 bhp naturally-aspirated boxer engine, rear-wheel-drive transmission and kerb weight under 1200kg it was designed to be a super-fun drivers car, something which has been lacking from technology-loaded super coupes. Naturally this makes the GT86/BRZ a perfect base for a high-performance coilover upgrade like a KW Clubsport 2-way kit. So with a GT86 you can be sure you are riding the only real descendant of the Toyota AE86 and feel in every corner like Dorikin aka Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya.
